CS2 Glove Types: All 8 Glove Families and Cases
Updated · 4 min read
CS2 has eight glove types, from Sport Gloves to Broken Fang Gloves. See which case introduced each one and how glove wear and the 0.06 to 0.80 float range work.
Counter-Strike 2 has eight glove types: Sport, Driver, Specialist, Moto, Hand Wraps, Bloodhound, Hydra and Broken Fang. Gloves first appeared in the Glove Case in November 2016, and since the Dead Hand update of March 2026 there are 94 glove finishes in total. Every pair has a float between 0.06 and 0.80, and that number decides its wear condition.
All eight CS2 glove types
Six types came with the first Glove Case. The other two, Hydra and Broken Fang, each arrived with a later glove set. Finish counts include the 22 gloves from the Dead Hand Collection, and the full list of pages is on the CSDROP wiki gloves index.
| Glove type | Introduced | Finishes | What sets it apart | Example |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sport Gloves | Glove Case, 2016 | 19 (7 from Dead Hand) | Athletic gloves made from tough synthetic fabric. | Sport Gloves | Vice |
| Driver Gloves | Glove Case, 2016 | 20 (8 from Dead Hand) | Driving gloves that shield the hands but keep a sense of touch. | Driver Gloves | King Snake |
| Specialist Gloves | Glove Case, 2016 | 19 (7 from Dead Hand) | Durable, breathable gloves built to take a beating. | Specialist Gloves | Crimson Kimono |
| Moto Gloves | Glove Case, 2016 | 12 | Bulky motorcycle gloves with hard knuckle guards. | Moto Gloves | Spearmint |
| Hand Wraps | Glove Case, 2016 | 12 | Fighter’s wraps that cover the knuckles and brace the wrist. | Hand Wraps | Slaughter |
| Bloodhound Gloves | Glove Case, 2016 | 4 | Fingerless and studded, with the Operation Bloodhound logo. | Bloodhound Gloves | Guerrilla |
| Hydra Gloves | Clutch Case, 2018 | 4 | Fingerless and studded, with the Operation Hydra logo. | Hydra Gloves | Case Hardened |
| Broken Fang Gloves | Operation Broken Fang Case, 2020 | 4 | Fingerless and studded, with the Operation Broken Fang logo. | Broken Fang Gloves | Jade |
Sport Gloves, Driver Gloves, Specialist Gloves, Moto Gloves and Hand Wraps are part of every glove set, so all seven glove cases contain them. The fingerless types are narrower: Bloodhound Gloves drop only from the Glove Case and the Operation Hydra Case, Hydra Gloves only from the Clutch and Revolution cases, and Broken Fang Gloves from the Operation Broken Fang, Snakebite and Recoil cases.
Those three fingerless types look alike, all studded and open at the fingers, and are told apart by the operation logo each one carries. The Bloodhound Gloves show the badge of Operation Bloodhound from 2015, even though they first dropped from the Glove Case in 2016. Like knives, every pair has a star (★) in its name, but gloves have their own rarity grade, Extraordinary, while knives are Covert.
Which cases introduced each glove set
Gloves come in sets. Each of the first three sets holds 24 gloves, four finishes for each of six types, and later cases reuse one of those sets instead of adding new designs. Seven cases contain gloves, plus the Dead Hand Terminal:
| Case or container | Released | Gloves inside |
|---|---|---|
| Glove Case | November 2016 | First set: 24 gloves, four each of Sport, Driver, Specialist, Moto, Hand Wraps and Bloodhound |
| Operation Hydra Case | May 2017 | The same 24 gloves as the Glove Case |
| Clutch Case | February 2018 | Second set: 24 new gloves, with Hydra Gloves taking the place of Bloodhound |
| Operation Broken Fang Case | December 2020 | Third set: 24 new gloves, with Broken Fang Gloves as the fingerless type |
| Snakebite Case | May 2021 | The Broken Fang Case set |
| Recoil Case | July 2022 | The Broken Fang Case set |
| Revolution Case | February 2023 | The Clutch Case set |
| Dead Hand Terminal | March 2026 | 22 new gloves: 8 Driver, 7 Specialist and 7 Sport |
Valve’s own announcements confirm each step: the Glove Case brought « 24 all-new gloves » (Glove Case announcement), the Clutch Case added 24 new glove finishes (release notes for February 15, 2018), and the Operation Broken Fang Case shipped an all-new set of gloves (Operation Broken Fang page). The Dead Hand gloves were the first new ones since that 2020 set.
How glove wear and float ranges work
Gloves use the same wear system as weapon skins. Each pair gets a float value when it is created, and that value sets its exterior. The float is fixed for good, so playing with the gloves never wears them down.
What makes gloves different is the range. Every glove finish in CS2, including the 22 Dead Hand gloves, is limited to floats between 0.06 and 0.80, while many weapon and knife finishes run the full 0.00 to 1.00 scale. So Factory New gloves exist only in the narrow 0.06 to 0.07 band, and even the most worn Battle-Scarred pair stops at 0.80. A pair at 0.10 is Minimal Wear, for example, and a pair at 0.50 is Battle-Scarred.
| Exterior | Standard float range | Glove float range |
|---|---|---|
| Factory New | 0.00 to 0.07 | 0.06 to 0.07 |
| Minimal Wear | 0.07 to 0.15 | 0.07 to 0.15 |
| Field-Tested | 0.15 to 0.38 | 0.15 to 0.38 |
| Well-Worn | 0.38 to 0.45 | 0.38 to 0.45 |
| Battle-Scarred | 0.45 to 1.00 | 0.45 to 0.80 |
Gloves also have a pattern number, like skins, so two pairs with the same name and exterior can show the design in slightly different positions. They never come in StatTrak or Souvenir versions.
Other ways to get gloves
Opening one of the seven glove cases is the traditional route, but there are two newer ones. Since October 22, 2025, a trade up contract can turn five regular Covert items into a pair of gloves or a knife from the collection of one of the items you put in (the October 22, 2025 update notes). Since March 11, 2026, Dead Hand Terminals can appear as a weekly drop and let you buy items from the Dead Hand Collection, whose rare special items are its 22 gloves (Valve’s Dead Hand announcement). You can also trade for gloves or buy them from other players on the Steam Community Market.
FAQ
How many glove types are there in CS2?
Eight: Sport, Driver, Specialist, Moto, Hand Wraps, Bloodhound, Hydra and Broken Fang. Together they have 94 finishes after the Dead Hand update of March 2026.
Can gloves be Factory New?
Yes, but only with a float from 0.06 to 0.07. No glove can go below 0.06, so a 0.00 float pair does not exist.
Can gloves be StatTrak?
No. There are no StatTrak or Souvenir gloves. That is also why a trade up contract made of five StatTrak Covert items can only return a StatTrak knife, never gloves.
Why do Bloodhound, Hydra and Broken Fang Gloves have only four finishes?
Each glove set gave its fingerless slot to one operation-branded type: Bloodhound in 2016, Hydra in 2018 and Broken Fang in 2020. The Dead Hand Collection added none of them, so each still has the four finishes from its original set.
Where can I see the exact float of my gloves?
Inspect the gloves from your inventory in game and open the item information. The float is listed as the Wear Rating, next to the Pattern Template number.
