About the SSG 08
Overview · Skins
Overview
The SSG 08 is a scoped bolt-action sniper rifle available to both sides for $1,700, the least costly weapon in its category. It is modeled on the Steyr-Mannlicher SSG 08, an Austrian rifle from 2008, and holds 10 rounds per magazine with 90 in reserve. Its rate of fire is slow, at about 48 rounds per minute, and its damage of 93 to 110 on the body and 299 to 357 on the head sits below the other sniper rifles. What it offers instead is a low weight, a low buy price, and unusually reliable accuracy when firing while jumping, qualities that make it a common pick for lightly funded rounds. It is also the only weapon that defaults to a dark gray camouflage finish.
